Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation Extends Help for Seniors in Need

September 17, 2019 - /PressAdvantage/ - Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation is extending their services to senior citizens in need in Hilton Head, Bluffton, Myrtle Beach and the rest of the Lowcountry, SC.

The company, through their website educated seniors in Hilton Head, Bluffton, Myrtle Beach and the rest of the Lowcountry, SC about today’s reverse mortgage options.

“The reverse mortgage is designed to help seniors to be qualified to convert a portion of their home equity into cash. The reverse mortgage has helped many homeowners and as long as all loan terms are met the home is still owned by the borrower,” the company explains on their website.

According to the article on Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, seniors that are 62 years or older, and have paid off their mortgage or have significant equity, are eligible for a reverse mortgage. They will no longer be required to pay a monthly mortgage as long as they, or their spouse, live in their home and keep the loan in good standing.

The amount that they will get will be based on a number of factors: the age of the youngest owner or eligible non-borrowing spouse, the home’s current market (appraised) value or $726,525, whichever is less, current interest rates, and current charges associated with the loan. They get to decide how they will receive the money--in lump sum payment, monthly cash flow payments, a line of credit, or a combination of the three.

As the trusted mortgage lender Bluffton SC, Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation’s reverse mortgage lenders will be responsible for guiding the applicant through the entire process. The company reviews the individual’s situation to help determine which reverse mortgage product is right for them. The company will also request all the necessary documents from the applicant. NEW YORK — Cynthia Erivo and Greta Gerwig rocked sparkling chokers as the Golden Globes red carpet kicked off Sunday, with Erivo in a hand-beaded custom Thom Browne gown and Gerwig in black and cream. Both went off-shoulder for the big night in Beverly Hills, California. Erivo, the “Harriet” star and fashion standout, said her dress includes designs of her favorite flower, the peony, at the hem and in her lining. The short-sleeve gown, Erivo told E!, took 800 hours. A huge blue stone dropped from her short necklace. Shades of pink had an early trend moment on Kirsten Dunst...

Solidarity march against anti-Semitism, acts of hate

May 28, 2020

NEW YORK — Throngs of demonstrators joined by elected officials walked solemnly across the Brooklyn Bridge in a solidarity march Sunday against anti-Semitism and all acts of hate. The crowds of participants jammed the streets in lower Manhattan as they waited their turns to get across the bridge. “It...

May 28, 2020

NEW YORK — Next year's Met Gala may be the closest we'll ever come to getting a Miranda Priestly moment at the starry event. Meryl Streep has been named as a co-chair of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. The Oscar-winner played Priestly, a thinly veiled fictional version of Vogue editor Anna Wintour, in the movie "The Devil Wears Prada." Wintour clearly has no hard feelings because she selected Streep as a co-chair along with Lin-Manuel Miranda and fellow Oscar-winner Emma Stone. Designer Nicolas Ghesquiere rounds out the group. The gala's theme is "About Time: Fashion and Duration," which...

The Senate unanimously passed the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act on Tuesday, two weeks after the House passed it on a voice vote. Florida Reps. Ted Deutch and Vern Buchanan sponsored the bill. Deutch, a Democrat, said it "sends a clear message that our society does not accept cruelty against animals" and...

MEXICO CITY — Relatives of women and girls murdered or missing in Mexico marched through the capital Sunday carrying over 100 purple crosses inscribed with the names of victims, demanding justice for their loved ones and improved efforts to investigate their cases.
