Lonely Planet app Trips: Be inspired or tell your own story

NEW YORK — Lonely Planet has a new free app called Trips that offers inspiration for travel along with an easy-to-use platform for creating your own travel stories.

You can scroll through curated content in categories like adventure, wildlife, cities, ruins, road trips, hiking and events.

Or upload your own photos and video about a place or travel experience and add text to create your own visually driven story with a sumptuous, professional look.

Share your Trips stories with others by message or email, or post on sites like Facebook or Twitter.

Lonely Planet CEO Daniel Houghton says Trips is the company's second major new mobile product, with the first one being an offline mapping app called Guides.
